One thing I really love about this work is supporting family members. It’s an honor to help make your relationship with your loved one less stressful and more rewarding.
Support is provided to families of weekly visit clients at whatever level they desire, and may include the following:

- Emotional support: The long goodbye of dementia can be grueling. You can count on me for a shoulder to lean on, a listening ear, and zero judgment.
- Practical support: I’m happy to advise on all issues covered in consultations (see For Families), some of which are included here.
- Weekly systems: I can help you create systems and schedules to help the week go more smoothly between visits.
- Home evaluations: I can identify potential hazards and offer ways to make your loved one’s environment safer and more therapeutic.
- Hands-on therapies: Learn some skills to reduce anxiety and help calm your loved one and yourself (see Therapies).
- Visit summaries: Upon request HARMONY will provide documentation of visits complete with pictures and/or videos so you know what we’ve been up to!
- Life Books: At the end of the year we create a Life Book, celebrating relationships and personalities. The current chapter may be very different from what you envisioned, but it’s happening, so let’s honor it.
- Transitions: When the time comes for your loved one to leave (or return to) the earth, or if they need to move to a facility or care home, I can help with all stages of these transitions (see Establishing Service).
